If any of these links aren't doing it for you, go to the bookstore and check out "How It All Vegan" and "Garden of Vegan". They are the best vegan cookbooks ever. (alot of vegetarian cookbooks are a little too gourmet and when I just want something new, I don't want to get all fancy shmancy)

Don't eat salads all day long, that's not healthy, and you will get so bored of it you'll start eating meat again.

Go to Whole Foods or a local natural food store and look for some "mock meat", fake meat that is made from either soybeans or wheat gluten that has alot of protein and mostly substitues as a great replacement for meat. If you wanted to be vegan, check the labels to see if they use egg whites to hold the ingredients together.

I recommend Yves brand products, anything they make is great tasting and even my omnivore family likes it. If you can't make it out for a separate outing to a natural food store, you can probably find Boca and Morningstar products in the frozen section of your local supermarket.

I've added a link to a website (Happy Cow.org) that helps you search for vegetarian restaurants & natrual food stores in your area.

It's totally easy to eat vegetarian nowdays, when you're out at a restaurant, look to see if they have a vegetarian section, or just ask for them not to put meat in things.

Good luck!

I have to say if you're a vegan then you shouldn't be even thinking about eating fish. No dairy no eggs, no ketchep none of that stuff. Vegetarians just dont eat meat. So anyway I think a lot of the flavor has to do with how the fish is prepared. My favorite fish is flounder. I would stay away from broiled fish and I actually dont eat fish out a lot cause it seems like they just can't get rid of that "fishy" smell.

Don't eat fish then. Make things that used meat, but rather than using meat, replace it with veggies. As you were told as a kid:

A rainbow on a plate is good. The more colours, the better the plate.

:] Try to get a food from every colour in, and don't forget, FRUIT!! Fruit is a great combo with veggies, as a dessert, rather than the chocolate cake in the fridge, make a good fruit salad mixed with yogurt. :] Awesome combos for the veggies that people who eat meat would ever come up with.

Vegans don't eat fish. . .

www.vegweb.com is an awesome resource for excellent recipes. so is www.fatfreevegan.com

on www.happycow.net you can find veggie restaurants and health food stores around the world according to your specific area, wherever you may live.

Whole Foods Market is an excellent place for vegans, so I hope you have one in your area. Their bulk section is awesome, where you can stock up on staples like rice, nuts, quinoa, flour, polenta, beans, oats, etc. I believe they could provide a list of what is vegan at the customer service counter, but it's not really hard to find, either. They have vegan ice creams and ice cream sandwiches, vegan pizza, vegan microwave meals such as Amy's Kitchen (check the label to make sure it's vegan).

Your local bookstore - perhaps Barnes & Noble - has tons of books on it. You can google "vegan books" and find titles before going to the book store. :) It's really not that hard. There's tons to eat. I promise. Good luck.

Okay, so what's the problem here? I never liked fish either, so it wasn't a problem when I went veg and then vegan. One less thing to cut from my diet. The smell of fish cooking is one of the more vile odors I can imagine.

Why does your husband want you to eat fish? Is he worried about the Omega-3 fatty acids? Walnuts and ground flax seed is a good source of omega-3s (as is flax oil, but do NOT ever, ever, ever cook flax oil).

Maybe you could sprinkle seaweed flakes over your food for flavoring and the nutritional aspects. If you go to a sushi place, they should have vegetarian maki rolls (seaweed, rice, and vegetables). But if you hate fish, there's no reason for you to eat the stuff, especially if you want to be a vegan.

Are you a vegan or a vegitarian? Either way you can find lots of great recipes for veggies, beans and grains by following this link:

My son is a vegitarian and I've learned a lot from reading the recipes and the comments from the cooks who post on that site.

Vegans and vegetarians do not eat fish; piscivores eat fish.

So, you're hubby would be wrong to tell you that its ok to eat fish... its not, if you want to be a vegan...

Perhaps you're confusing veganism with vegetarianism?

Try: http://www.peta2.com/STUFF/s-recipe.asp

They list a lot of vegan food, just look through the categories!

I hate fish as well for the same reasons. However someone introduced me to tilapia. It is a very mild fish and pretty much all you taste/smell when eating it is whatever you season it with. It's the only fish I'll eat.

wait..I'm confused. are you trying to say that you're a vegan and do/ want to eat fish?

since when do vegetarians/ vegan eat seafood?

and salad is not the only food vegans eat. please do some research; sounds like you really need it.
