I'm a meat eater who occasionally follows a vegetarian diet. Young cows are raised specifically for veal, yet the conditions under which they are raised are cruel. I haven't eaten veal in 20 years because of this.
So, yes, I agree.

The deplorable living conditions of raised-for-food livestock (including mega-farm dairy herds) makes it imperative that people of conscience (that includes people who consume animal products) patronize the organic/pasture-fed meat and dairy producers, who allow their livestock lives spent in pastures instead of the overcrowded, unhealthy conditions of a feed-lot/commercial pens and too much processed feed to eat.

It's one big reason I gave up dairy. I objected to veal long before I went vegetarian.
But what really outrages me is foie gras...and don't get me started on that.

It is sad about the baby cows and veal. I think its really awful. i hope you dont get any rude comments . I posted a question about why meat eaters eat meat and I got 26 answers and some of them were so over the top nasty. THey personally attacked me and called me names it was really awful. I hope that does not happen to you.
A vegetarian diet is so much better for the environment and for the animals. There are literally 1000s of meatless recipes out there only limited by imagination, sometimes it is hard to understand why people would condone the slaughtering of animals for food. below is a 113 good reasons why people dont have to eat meat.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I still don't believe in veal. It's not, however, the fact that they die young, but the way they are treated before they die. You say they haven't gotten to live yet, but think...what would their life be like anyway? Not much, would it? It's not really the fact that they died young...that really doesn't make much difference, since they wouldn't have had anything to live for anyway, had they grown older (gives birth, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, milked, slaughtered). They just live in terrible conditions, much worse than normal cows, before they're killed.
