Lets see. According to you Abraham, Jacob, David and Solomon and others were all adulterers.

You are right that marriage is between a man and a women. But, if there were instances that God asked that man to be married to another woman, including his first, would that be wrong to you? If you were married to more then one woman in the eyes of God, would that be adultery? I don't think it is. If this is the case, then David, Solomon, Abraham and Jacob would all be adulterers, and wouldn't be seen as having favor with God. He told them to take multiple wives.
There is also the case of Joseph of Egypt. His mom was the second wife. So does that mean that Joseph was really an illegitimate son? If that is the case, then how did he find favor with God?
I bring this up to show that there are reasons why God does things. We may not understand why God wants us to do something, but that doesn't mean there aren't real reasons.
We don't believe that polygamy was adultery. It was something that God asked, so it was done. It wasn't seen as adultery.
Here is a website that explains a few things about polygamy that might help you understand our stand on this. Scroll down the the question about polygamy, or read the questions and just click on the question and it will take you to the answer.
We don't practice polygamy now, and it's seen as adultery now. It is also grounds for excommunication from the church. The FLDS aren't part of our church. They are separate.

I do believe that the question was not even really about poligamy, it was about adultery. I do believe that EVERY "Mormon Sect" condemns adultery, or having sex outside of marriage .as did Brigham Young and other early LDS Leaders who did practice the Law of Plural Marriage which was a commandment at the time given to SOME. It was later withdrawn. Poligamy is NOT having sex outside marriage, and yes, David WAS an adulterer.
Latter-day Saints do not practice poligamy. They condemn adultery. There are other spin-off groups which are not and many never were, affiliated with the LDS Church. Who DO practice poligamy. However all of them also condemn adultery.

Huh? Last I heard we all do... ok, some break-off groups still practice polygamy.
Clearly, you haven't read your Bible recently. Both Abraham and Jacob had multiple wives, and God approved.
Yes, normally, God expects marriage to be one man and one woman. Under special specific situations, when God asks, then certain men are asked to take more than one wife. In these situations, any current existing wife/wives must approve any new or additional wives. The man doesn't really have a say in the matter.
We believe that God commanded some men in the early days of the Mormon Church to practice polygamy. I'm sure that according to your definition, this caused these men to commit adultery, but here's a question for you...
If God commands one to kill another person, is it still murder?

I think you're just a mormon hater, but I'll humor you.
Sin is sin because God says it's a sin.
How about the Old Testament prophets who were polygamous? were they adulterers? The question isn't "was he a polygamist" but rather "was he a prophet". If he was indeed God's prophet, then he would have been sinning by NOT practicing polygamy after God had instructed him to.
Mormons believe that adultery is wrong. You're twisting words.

Many people go to their church and play the game with alot of the other church goers. With little or no understanding of what the church stands for or believes in. Many Church goers go because their family is there or to help their business grow, or some other reason not because of God. I dont care what religion you are, read the Bible through and through, and make your own decisions on what the Bible means allow God to be your guide. I am sorry to say many poeople will never go to Heaven because they simply go to Church and do what they think they need to because some body said so!!! You want the truth about it all read the Bible first...

First: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints condemns adultery. You can get excomunicated for commiting adultery.
Second: Polygamy is not adultery. Most prophets in the Bible where polygamists and they wouldn't commit adultery.

If you read "Divergent Paths from the Restoration", you will find a number of churches that believe as you say. The concern is that you have to also denounce Joseph Smith as a false prophet to avoid the contamination with adultery. NONE do that though!

You are implying that God in the Old Testament imposed moral standards different from what He imposed during the New Testament era.

An adulterer is someone who has sex with someone who is NOT their spouse. Brigham Young never did that.
You can call polygamy adultery. You can also call a dog's tail a leg, but that doesn't mean the dog now has five legs.
