No it is a blood born virus. Its transferable in anal sex because this causes skin abrasions.

I have HIV and i know a lot about this subject. The reason you catch it through anal sex is due to the tissue inside the anus being sensitive and it can be easily damaged. It is transferred when body fluids contact each other E.g if the inside has a small tear and infected come is deposited inside the anus then it can be passed on. The reason you cannot get it through sewage is because the HIV virus dies within minuets when it is air born. Say for example if i cut my hand and you got the blood on you and you had an open wound there is a slight risk that you can catch it but if you didn`t have any cuts or wounds there is virtually no risk at all. Hope this has eased your mind?

HIV has an amazingly short shelf-life outside a vacuum so that evn if by some way large amounts of blood were transmitted through sewage HIV just would not last that long. Besides with the chemicals and bacteria which cause decay in sewage do you really think HIV would survive? Oh yeah about that anal sex crack, 1) during anal sex excretion does not (shouldn't) occur
2) HIV is probably transmitted faster through the anus than any other opening on the body because it has the least hostile environment for viruses and bacteria to flourish
3) During excretion and anal sex, faeces is transmitted out and sperm ejaculated in. Two different processes, two different results and directions

How is it you are a TOP CONTRIBUTOR? What a dumb question. Wow!
Have you never heard of a water treatment plant? Awe, gee maybe that's where the germs/microbes are killed or at least brought down to a tolerable level so you don't get a STD(just kidding about catching an STD) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But you could get deathly sick from untreated water.
STD are transmitted directly from person to person or at least shortly after an object has been contaminated. HIV does not live that long outside the body, only hours.
Meningitis on the other hand is what you should be concerned with! Its so easily transmitted.
Bleach and water 1:10 water is the best killer of HIV.
You should watch the program on TV and how London was so filthy people had the plague and King Louie ordered someone (I forget his name) to design a system that would clean up their streets! People were actually throwing sewage out into the streets.
Very interesting.

in case your serious, to answer you question, no it is not transferrable via sewage. HIV is an extremely delicate virus that does not survive outside of the bloodstream for very long. Considering the massive amount of chemicals (both organic and man-made) in sewage the virus would not last for any appreciable amount of time. The difference between sewage and anal sex is that its not the fecal matter that transmits HIV during anal sex. Its extremely small tears that form inside the anus, and potentially on the penis, that allow fluid exchange.

HIV is transmitted via anal sex because of seaman being deposited and absorbed through small tears in the rectum. Anal sex can tear and rip the rectum and there can also be blood to vblood contact. Always use a condom.

If you mean raw sewage, then the answer could be yes... only if your open cuts or mucous membranes would come into direct contact with the sewage. How likely is that?
It is transferable with anal sex because your mucous membranes (and anal fissure if you have any) come into direct contact with body fluids and the HIV virus.

HIV the virus is transferred by bodily fluids. So you have to come in contact with the bodily fluids onto your skin.
Wear 2 condoms if you want to do anal.
If female, make sure the guy has 2 concoms on before any penetration.

The HIV virus must be kept at a certain temperature range in which to live. outside of the body it's life is limited to less than six minutes. within the body, it thrives.

If there's blood in it.... wiles disease is in sewerage... loads of stuff can get transmitted thru it. You have to have vaccination to work anywhere near sewerage, even if you work for the water board.
