Since you already have cake (ice cream goes well). I would do something small that the kids would have a blast with. I've always done something simple like "Cup of Dirt" and the kids (plus adults!) really think it's fun!

Attached is a similiar recipe. I've always used small paper cups and instead of ice cream I've used chocolate pudding. Enjoy!

14 Oreo cookies, finely crushed, divided (about 1 cup crumbs)
1 pint chocolate ice cream
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
gummy worms, for garnish
prepared whipped topping, for garnish

In each of 4 dessert dishes, place 2 Tbs cookie crumbs.
Top each with 1/2 cup ice cream, remaining 2 tbs cookie crumbs and 1 Tbs syrup.
Garnish with gummy worms and whipped topping.

Cake is probably the most important thing, but if you wanted other options, I'd put out a few small things, like either cookies or bite sized brownies. It might be nice to also have a big fruit salad in case some people (probably the adults!) want to be a little more healthy. Oh, and don't forget to include ice cream with the cake.

To make it really easy, you could do cupcakes and ice cream in a cone, the flat bottom kind. The kids could put either the icing and /or sprinkles of different kinds on their dessert. Should be good for about 30 minutes of the party time!

I used to have these at my friend's birthday party. Fruit Pizzas. It was graham crazker/shortbread as the crust, cream cheese as the sauce and fruita s the topping. use rainbow colored fruits,
red- strawberries
orange- orange slices
yellow- lemons
green- green grapes
blue- blueberries
purple- purple grapes

It was very good! otherwise you can make a cookie cake. so just make a ton of cookie dough and pour it at the bottom of a cake pan, cook for regular amount of time or until golden brown, then put frosting on it! It's delicious!

I think a buffet of small portioned desserts would be a good idea. Kids like variety and small goodies since they think they are eating more. Single servings of jello, pudding, custard, yoghurt, ice cream or fruit will be an instant hit.

I suggest buying a large container of ice cream and a few premade cheesecakes.
Then buy some ice cream toppings that could also be used on the cheesecakes. such as strawberries, blueberries, chocolate sauce, chocolate chips.
THen the guests can have
ice cream and cake
ice cream sundae
plain cheesecake
strawberry cheesecake,
chocolate cheesecake, etc.
THis makes for lots of options and everyone is satisfied! bananas cut up would also make for banana splits also!

Dirt cupcakes would be fun. It's easier to give you the site with the recipe.

They could also make their own ice cream sundaes. Just put 2 scoops of the ice cream in a small bowl and let them pick out the different toppings you've set out ( IE. chocolate, strawberry or butterscotch syrups, mini marshmallows, fresh chopped fruit, sprinkles etc.)

jello jigglers go over good and you can cut them into different shapes with a cookie cutter, the recipe is probably at the jello web site

popcorn put it in a plastic glove like food servers wear and tie the top with a piece of ribbon or whatever, you can put candy corn in the finger tips and it is cute

bugs on a log, it is celery sticks with peanut butter in the groove and raisins put on that

ice cream, put it in dixie cups for easy clean up and less mess

bake the cake in flat bottom ice cream cones and then frost them and put sprinkles on top
you have to sit them in muffin cups so they don't tip over while they are baking but are really cute when they are done

Jello is always a favorite. Also try, filling ice cream cone's with(baked) cake and spread frosting and sprinkles on top to make it look like a yummy ice cream cone!! This is great, I highly recommend these!!

I wouldn't think you would need much besides cake except maybe ice cream with the cake.

One thing I have tons of luck with are Scotcharos:

INGREDIENTS
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
6 cups crisp rice cereal
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS
Generously butter a 9x13 inch baking pan. Set aside.
In a large pot, mix together corn syrup, sugar, and peanut butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring until peanut butter melts. Bring mixture to a boil. Remove from heat, and stir in crisp rice cereal.

Transfer mixture into a well buttered 9x13 inch pan. With your hands well buttered, pat it down into pan.
In a medium saucepan, over medium low heat, melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips until smooth. Spread over top of bars and let bars cool. Cut into squares
