yes, you can get stds just from kissing. the chances are even higher when that person has had oral sex with someone who has an std. not everyone always catches the std, they are lucky. and not everyone who has an std shows symptoms and signs of it, they could just be a carrier but they can still pass it on. unfortunately not enough ppl get tested to know what their disease status is, but even then they don't always tell the truth about it. it's sad. i would wait for any sort of physical contact until you really get to know someone, that way when you ask about diseases and testing they shouldn't get too upset. and if they do get upset then they're either lying about something or extremely immature. talking about and getting tested for stds is the smartest and most mature thing a couple can do. you can also use it as a bonding moment, get tested together so you can have that trust in each other when you are intimate
also, just as you can get stds on ur lips and mouth from oral sex ........you can get stds on ur genitals if someone has stds on their lips or mouth and they give you oral sex.
p.s. just to clear up some confusion. not all stds are spread through the exchange of bodily fluids. some are spread just through skin to skin contact. just for example, herpes and HPV are a virus and sometimes the virus comes to the skin surface without causing any symptoms and can easily b spread just by kissing.

You are not gonna kiss anyone in a flash, you will do so only after you know them well. And if you knew them well, they wouldnt hide anything from you, even if they have some kind of STD, so dont worry and you dont have to test them. You could just tell them that you like to be careful and ask them about these. Apart from that, if you are gonna kiss or do whatever you want in random and keep changing yer partners over and over again, you will get a lot of STDs. So becareful while having fun.

There are two STD's you can get from kissing:
Herpes and HPV. These are contact diseases that can be transferred from genitals to mouth (and vice versa) as well as mouth to mouth.
You don't have to get someone tested before you kiss them. Just make sure you never kiss anyone with a cold sore (which, by the way, is Herpes -- though it may not necessarily have originated in the genitals) or anyone with mouth warts. Unlike genital transferrence, it is unlikely you'll catch either disease from mouth-mouth contact if there are no lesions present.

theoretically yes you can. the main question is, when that person performed orally, did they in fact contract or made themselves a carrier of the disease in question. Now if you kiss them while they still have bodily fluids on, around, or in their mouth youre just plain stupid. If you already did this and a worried, find a physician and get tested.

Yes, as long as there is some exchange of bodily fluids, there is chance of passing it along... The most commonly passed STD is a cold sore, which is a herpes infection.
