Health Deaprtments for where ever you are generally appreciate privacy. If that Doctor is a Doc you trust, consider going there for the test, and NOT billing the insurance company.

You have the right by Law to seek testing and/or treatment for STD's without parental consent or knowledge even if you are a minor {the same applies for termination of a pregnancy, contraception, and treatment for substance use/abuse}. Health services providers know that they are obligated by Law to keep this kind of information confidential; not even your Family Physician can tell your parents about this without your written consent to do so. Of course, if you use your mom's health insurance card all testing/treatment you receive will show up on the bill. But there are ways around this situation. You can call your state's Health Department and ask where you can go for free testing and treatment {most minors are treated for free, since they are considered indigent; if you are an adult, tell them you have no medical insurance}. Or, go to a Planned Parenthood clinic; besides abortions, these clinics offer free or low-cost STD testing, treatment and counseling. You can look up the following link to find a Planned Parenthood clinic in your area:

Of course, you HAVE to get tested and treated if you suspect you may have contracted gonorrhea {or any other STD for that matter}. If you don't receive proper treatment on time, gonorrhea may cause permanent scarring of the inner lining of your fallopian tubes, blocking them and rendering you sterile [unable to have children}. For more information on gonorrhea, its symptoms and treatment go to this link:

I hope you the best of luck; and remember to tell your partner to wear a condom for any kind of sexual contact. Most STD's can be effectively prevented by wearing a latex condom. If he refuses, stand your ground: NO CONDOM, NO SEX.

Most counties run free clinics for STDs. You don't even have to tell them your name. Planned Parenthood will do this testing too, but they will charge you some money.

Go to planned parenthood. They have a clinic, and everything is confidential. Good luck.

Agreed. Tell them that you don't want your parents to find out and they can give you options.
