If your lungs heart when you breathe it could be serious. You could have asthma, i know because i have asthma and that's one of my signs when i need to take my inhaler. It does go away by itself if you sit down and take it easy. My advice to you if there is anything that hearts in your chest area get it checked it could be serious.

You probably pulled a muscle but if its getting worse then the question is did you hurt yourself when you were exercising? Did you do anything straining? Did you fall down or have something dropped on your chest?

Take a pill but if that doesn't work.. see a doctor cuz the injury could be really bad.

I actually get the same experience as you.
Sometimes when I inhale it doesn't hurt and it only hurts when I take deep breaths like yawns.
I get a sharp pain on the left side of my chest.
