Yes. They have a heart, a brain, and feelings. They love their young and care for them. Just because they can't communicate the way I do doesn't make them any less than I do.

My main reason is because of the environmental damage caused by modern farming practices and the 'additives' that are fed to animals. I fear (but I don't really know for sure) that it can't be healthy for humans to consume meat from animals that have been given drugs and hormones. My doubt leads me to avoid meat. Other than that, it's not so much the actual killing of the animals, but what they have to endure while they're alive. I read the book "The ethics of what we eat" and have eaten very little meat since.

Yes. Though the killing is only a part of it. An animal dying is is a tragedy, yes, but the torture it endures over the course of its painful life is what really got to me.

Yes. I have a very high regard for life, I hate the idea of killing anything. Even the simpliest animals have their own individuality, I respect that.

But if my house got invested with roaches, I'd spray them. I don't feel good about it but I don't have any other choice.

No, I just would rather not ingest all the hormones, anti-biotics, and saturated fat. I not a strict veg head though I'll eat fish and sometimes a little chicken.
