IF you have a medical statement from a qualified medical doctor stating that you, in fact, need heart surgery, as opposed to just having your own "interpretations" of "symptoms", then you just tell him. We men aren't a bunch of whimps. Yeah, it bothers us if we can't provide, but then, that's life, and I'm sure he can make it through. Your other answerers have good suggestions about using Medicaid or such if possible, but your question was about telling your husband. My answer is, tell your husband. It's as simple as that. God Bless you.

I'm sorry about you needing to have heart surgery. I hope you arrange something and all goes well.

About telling your husband, I don't think there's a right way. You need to tell him about your symtons, going to the doctor, and what analysis he gave you, and the result.

I don't know how he would react, but I think he would do the utmost to manage it. Good luck!

You shouldn't be afraid to tell your husband anything. He loves you "right". There are financial assistance employees in hospitals who are there to help you, also talk to your doctor about your dilemma maybe he can help knock some of he's fees off your bill, or maybe all. I wish you luck "and get that surgery". You come first not those bills.

you just need to tell him and compromise on ways to afford your surgery.................which is very important right now. your life is important. i'm sure he will agree with me. can you find any assistance in your area who can help pay for your surgery. do you have a local public aid office?? i wish you the best of luck.

Make sure you talk to a social worker at the hospital you are having surgery at. They are excellent at getting financial help for you.

I had a nose job at 22 and it took me 2 years to save for it before I had it done. It was the best decision I ever made. I would just sit him down and talk to him about it, but I wouldnt expect him to pay for any of it.

Just tell him. Also contact the National Heart Association. They should be able to help you.

Take him with you when you go to social services and sign up for medical assistance.
Good luck to you both.
