That is a very high reading. If you are not under a doctor's supervision, make an appointment pronto.

Blood pressure measurements don't count for anything if you've been walking around. Ideally, you should be sitting down for at least 5 minutes or so. Blood pressure also can vary during the day, so it's best to get measurements from similar times during the day. No caffeine in the morning either. These measurements should be repeated on a few separate occasions. Some people get "white coat hypertension" when they go to the doctor's office because they are nervous. Probably blood pressure medicines wouldn't kill you. But you don't necessarily need blood pressure medicines if your blood pressure is only high while active. When doctors study the effects of high blood pressure, they study the effects of people who are diagnosed with it as described above. You are probably at no higher cardiac risk from your blood pressure.

A reading of 203/98 is too high and, Yes, it's bad. High blood pressure (HTN) increases the workload of the heart, causing it to weaken over time. It also increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, kidney failure and CHF ( congestive heart failure : this is a syndrome in which the heart fails to pump blood forward normally, resulting in congestion in the pulmonary { lungs} or systemic circulation { blood supply to the body}. Decreased cardiac output causes decreased blood flow to the tissues/organs ) Do you have any swelling of the feet, ankles or lower legs?? How old are you?? Any family history of HTN ?? Reduce your salt intake. For adults 18 and older, here are the blood pressures that will tell a person if it is normal or NOT. Normal: less than 120 ( top number- systolic) less than 80 ( bottom number-diastolic). Pre-hypertension: 120-139/ 80-89 . High Stage One: 140-159/ 90-99. High Stage Two: 160 or higher, lower number is
100 or higher. Are you a Diabetic or a family history of Diabetes?? Are you overweight?? Smoker? High cholesterol?? The bottom line is that you need to be evaluated by your Doc ASAP. If you do not have a Doc, go to the ER. There are many medications that are available to lower your blood pressure. I hope that this helps and Good Luck.

Thats a high blood pressure. Normal is 120/60. You should get looked at today. If you have chest pain/ discomfort or just about anything you feel is abnormal about you body, you need to be seen right away. Relax and take your blood pressure again, you could be under a lot of stress.

Pulse is good. The top number should be about 130 so that sounds high to me. Usually mine is around 100/50, but that's lower than normal so I'm not sure what the total range is for a normal blood pressure, but yours is a little high.

It's high. The first (top) number is the systolic, and ideally should be below 140. The second (bottom) number is the diastolic and should be below 90. Your pulse if fine.

You should see a doc. High blood pressure can cause all kinds of problems. There are many meds and behavior modifications that will help.

Good luck.

That's high. 130/78 is perfect for an otherwise normal healthy adult. I would visit a doctor. Blood pressure meds are cheap and have no side effects.

Under 120/80 is ideal.
Up to 140/90 is considered borderline high.
Over 140/90 is considered high.

So yours is very high. Do NOT let it continue. Call your doctor ASAP. It can cause damage to your arteries and or organs. It is possible to have a stroke.

Your pulse is great.

It's emergency.

Should lie down immediately to lower some BP, call doctor to get medicine (nitroglycerin and beta blocker) and instruction, and have someone pickup prescription.

or have someone to drive you to ER asap so doctor can bring BP down.

Too high, take it again, if it still too high, see your Doctor, it should be about 120 over 70.
