Alcohol when ingested acts acts as an stimulant of CNS, hence resulting in increased heart rate, as time passes it 's metabolized in the liver in sugar and than to fat, and now it begins to act as a depressant of CNS, AND there is fall of heart rate.
The 90 bpm is due to a reflex phenomena, and an undesirable symptom.
You please better leave it immediately for your own good, because when health is lost it never comes back, honour the Blessings of God; as more than 40% of bed is occupied in hospitals due to complication/s of alchololism.

RE:
Is it normal for your heart to race after drinking alcohol?
My heart gets up to 130 bpm sometimes higher but the average is 130 after a night of drinking like 5 beers... my resting hr is in between 72 & 80 bpm...it usually slows down the next day but its still a bit high like 90 bpm.

Don't listen to people who have no idea what they are talking about. Your heart rate is elevated because your body speeds up your metabolism to remove toxins once they get to a certain level. It remains elevated because you dehydrated the next day and your kidneys pull water out your blood to compensate. Just replace your last drink or two with a glass of water and you'll be fine. Its science, pure and simple.

Yes. Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant. Therefore, the heart has to work harder to pump blood. Don't drink so much because think about what it does to your heart, and other organs, over time.

Initially your heart rate will elevate a little, but NOT THAT MUCH. Overall though, it's a depressant. It's not normal to stay like that.

alcohol is a stimulant, so yeah, it's pretty normal for it to raise a heart rate. Frankly as high as yours goes, I'd seriously consider not drinking at all. Over time you can damage your heart muscle.

Considering alcohol is a depressant, then answer would be no. Your body may not be able to tolerate alcohol for whatever reason, get with your Doc and talk to him/her.
