Sort of. Vegetarians also avoid other slaughterhouse products like gelatin, animal rennet etc.

The post made by Jonni below is not entirely correct. There is no pollo or pesce-vegetarians. They don't exist simply because no vegetarian eats any animal. Those words are made up.

Vegetarians will eat dairy and eggs and don't sweat the small amounts of by products in commercially prepared foods.

Vegans - will not eat or use anything that is a product of animal manufacture - so not only will they not eat meat, dairy, eggs - they will not eat most cheeses (they will eat vegetable and bean based cheese products) they will not eat jello or animal based gelatin products nor will they use cosmetics or hair products that include animal by products. Nor with they wear leather, fur and so on.

Vegetarian is a health choice and Vegan is more of a lifestyle and health commitment.

Pretty much. Vegetarians don't eat flesh, but may eat animal products, whereas vegans don't eat anything that comes from an animal.
