No. My friends always tease me "But Rachel, you're a vegetarian, you cant eat eggs, you cant drink milk, you cant do this and that!" That's NOT true. If you are a VEGAN, you cannot eat eggs. If you are a vegetarian, you can. A vegetarian just cant eat meat. Meat is cows, pigs, turkey, lamb, ect. As a vegan, you cannot eat anything that was involved with animals. That means milk, eggs, ice cream, ect. I think you can have soy stuff though...

Eggs are not chickens. The ones you get from stores are not fertilized so there's no baby chick inside. Chickens lay eggs naturally. However, if you're worried about contributing to animal cruelty, I wouldn't buy eggs. Egg laying hens are treated very badly. Even if it says free range/organic, you can never be sure about how the chickens were treated.

So to answer your question.
No, eggs are not meat.

The eggs you buy in the store are unfertilized eggs. Even if they weren't eaten they would never become a chicken. I'm tired of this "true vegetarian" crap. Everyone makes their own choices about their diet. If you choose not to eat eggs do it because the chickens who provide them are exploited and forced to live in horrible conditions.

No - they aren't since they are not fertilized they are protien but not meat. Eggs are a waste product of chickens a chicken will lay eggs regardless of fertilization - unfertilized eggs have protien and amino acids but do not endanger the species since they will never develop into chicks.

If they are not fertilized then they are not meat. Most all store eggs are not fertilized.

Basically they are a menstruation from the chicken and a placenta in the same shell.

Which i honesltly think of is unquestionably cool. anway. i think of you propose jains. that's a faith that originated in India. they don't consume eggs. using fact they don't consume nutrition that comes from animals. which i think of is stable. i'm guessing lower back in the old days eggs have been form of unknown. different than they did know each and every so often babie chickens got here out of those eggs. so as that they theory that ingesting replace into in actuality killing those babies. i think of thats what occurred not sure although. yet Indians do consume eggs using fact on each and every occasion i pass to my friends living house they each and every so often make this egg curry. it is so stable. besides lower back on your question. sure egg is a meat. yet its not the form of meat vegetarian stands for. once you think of vegetarian you think of; people who do not consume animals for, well being reasons or animal cruelty. no animals have become harm once you consume eggs. staggering? so in actuality egg is a vegetarian meat. haha

I'd say no, they aren't flesh after all. And if you ask my "vegetarian" sister, chickens aren't meat either (but I'd say they are). Vegans don't eat eggs though.
