I agree with the previous answer. Is this a sweet 16, or for a 13 year old? Obviously it depends on what you are interested in. Book some lanes a bowling alley, or go to a movie. You can book a room at a nice restaurant, have a Hawaiian luau in your back garden where everyone dresses up in grass skirts, etc. Have a barbecue, do a make your own pizza party, which is really easy to do I might add. It also depends on your budget, and how many people you are going to invite. Some ideas for invitations, you can purchase card, cut it out in the shape of sunglasses.

Can you be a bit more specific? There is quite a difference in interest between a thirteen year old and an eighteen year old.

There are board games. Many of them have multiplayer and can actually be quite fun. Card games -- Uno, Poker, Texas Hold'em, BS, Gin, etc. Video games -- it's always fun to watch others play and cheer people on, take turns, etc.

Also, something to consider is the type of people that are going to attend your party. If it's all girls, some like to do makeovers and play with make up. If there are guys, then that is most certainly not a very good idea.

Key is to include activities that everyone can participate in. Maybe you (or your parents) can do some grilling if you really want some good food instead of just little sandwiches. Most of the time the talking and the company is enough to make a party enjoyable. =)

get stippers.....or make it a theme of pimps and hoes....that would be fun....get a cask of wine and hang it from a hillhoist clothesline and swing it around....lots of fun
