Very, very unlikely but not impossible.
The 'life' of the HIV virus ends a few seconds after it's exposed to air. It needs to be in someone's body or protected against air to flourish.
That's why it can survive in IV needles (airlocked in a sense).
You should be okay. But if you want to be 100% certain, you can be tested down the line (it takes a few months to show up).
I'd bet large sums of money you're fine though. I'd still talk with the barber about cleaning the blade after cutting someone.

Ok, I really do feel 4ya. But 4 1 - if I saw the barber gash someone I would not let him go anywhere near my head with any razor - let alone the one with blood on it. 2 - Complain to health standards or something as thats a huge risk that he could be doing everyday. Explain everything n he should be shut down. Then go het an aids test. It's only a blood test. I think you will hopefully be fine but this place needs to be shut down. In the mean time do not have sex with any1 etc incase of infecting them Good Luck.

Well, I'd be worried ya know. The previous client could have something and then the barber cut you with the same nasty razor. I'd go to a clinic and get tested. Go back to the barber and tell him about it, he should pay for your testing at the clinic. You can complain to the better business burea about this event. The barber shop is not working according to minimal hygenic requirements.
In this day and age ne cannot let these things slide.

My worry would be more about getting Hepatitis C then it would about AIDS and HIV.
The disease of Hepatitis C can live in the blood on a table or razor etc for longer then the blood carrying HIV and AIDS.
Personally I would be looking into finding a better barber shop one that Knows to clean and sterilize equipment between clients That is educated on sterilizing and cleanliness in general
That place sounds like a Hep C infection waiting to happen.

the chance of contracting an HIV/AIDS or other STDs are very minimal but still possible, for you to have a peace of mind you should get a consult and be tested for STDs espcifically HIV/AIDS after 3months or 6 months, Hepatitis B and C after 3 months and syphilis after 2-3 weeks the test for syph is VDRL.
Good luck!

Stds usually come from direct skin to skin contact. It is very hard for viruses to live on an inanimate object for long. This is why you cannot get it from a toliet seat, etc. While what he did was unsanitary, the health risks are minimal!

STD would be impossible. AIDS would be rather unlikely because the virus cannot live outside of the body host. When the AIDS virus is exposed to air, it is rendered harmless.
