I had this happen to me and had a tear in the bottom of the front wall of the tent too. I used duct tape, yep, duct tape! Four years and many camping trips later the duct tape and the tent is still holding up fine. This includes camping trips in the forest as well as the Black Rock Desert of Nevada which is a bed of alkaline dust and has winds of up to 40-50 miles an hour.....the tent is doing great!

first, use preventive care and always use a groundcloth...
For fixing this tear, use a waterproof cement. Barge Cement works well. sandwich the crack between two pieces of nylon (rip stop) or similar fabric and coat the inside of those pieces with glue, so that you have a layer of fabric holding a layer of glue in next to the tear on both sides of the fabric- inside the tent and outside. keep it under pressure while it sets, that helps the glue set stronger. once the glue drys, your tent will be as good as new!

Glue it together and put duct tape on both sides. Start using a ground cloth under the tent and a floor protector inside the tent to prevent more holes. (you can cut some heavy plastic to your tent size for both).

If it is in the tarp-type part of the bottom of the tent, I would get some glue...maybe epoxy glue, not really sure on what type (more than super glue though...something with a little bit of give) If it is a tear at the seam, sew it with fabric thread and a fabric needle.

clean the area the place it is torn. If small use fix tape on the two factors, smoothing out so there are actually not any bubbles. If greater advantageous you would be able to would desire to apply seam sealer additionally, and use the comparable kind of cloth because of the fact the tent is made out of for alternative cloth. If close to a stretched area, you would be able to would desire to make a clean seam.

Kenyon nylon repair tape which can be bought at Walmart. If you can't find it duct tape will always work. Put the tape on both sides and don't worry about how it looks because it just makes you look experienced.
