Men CAN show symptoms of HPV, but not always. It's the same with women.
It can take several months and even years to show any signs or symptoms of HPV, like genital warts.
Your boyfriend might have the virus and is just not showing any symptoms of it. He might develop genital warts later on, or he might never develop them.

HPV is known to 120 type strains but 37 are known to sexual transmitted disease with high contagion. It would be spreaded through skin to skin contact with infected area during sexual intercourse, especially for genital area.
Also the HPV may cause genital warts. Some are visible, and some are invisible. But that do not mean there is no HPV virus in your body.
You should take the Colopyohly to see what type you have. The two type of high risky may cause genital warts. The other two type is associated with cervical cancer.

HPV doesn't always mean gential warts, there is 30 strains of it that causes gential warts and 70+that don't. The 70+ is what doesn't show up in men, but does alot time in women. But the 30 strains cause gential warts in both men and female. There is 4 strains of HPV that can be prevented through a shot for women only, these 4 are very cancerous kinds. Thus causing cervical cancer.

Unfortunately there's no way to prove who you got the virus from. I was diagnosed with HPV in Jan 2005 while on my 4th sexual partner. My doctor told me any of them could've passed it along to me b/c most men never even know that they have it! My boyfriend is one of the ones who does get outbreaks though, so it sort of helps to know that until he's clear we can't play. Your boyfriend may never show any signs that he has this, and there's really no point in him going to a doctor until he has a wart b/c there's no test for men yet. And the worst part is that condoms don't protect against this so even if you had used them, it doesn't matter. Good luck to you!

Men do show symptoms, if they get it they will develop warts. HPV typically takes 10-12 months to show any symptoms, so make sure he keeps an eye out in the coming months.

It is possible u got them before him or even from him. Sometimes the virus lays dorment in your bady for some time before ever showing it self. A lot of time women get them before men due to hormones and stress and pregnancy.

HPV is pretty easy to pick up. I've heard it can be contracted in changing rooms and public toilets. It might not have been his fault, you could have gotten it sharing a wet towel with a friend at the beach.
I've never heard that men could get it, though.
