it's made like a pancake
you have a circle and hold to oppisite ends with the paper in the middle like a taco but with the 2 top sides touching
then take the OTHER ends that aren't touching and push the middle in to make them touch. I know this cause i've made them before

When a fortune cookie comes out of the griddle cooker, it's still very soft, pliable and shaped like a flat circle.

A worker puts the fortune in center and folds the cooking into the usual shape. When cooled, the cookie hardens up and becomes crispy.

the cookie is shaped with the fortune inside - the batter/dough is cooked and while still warm & pliable the fortune is placed across the center. fold over once - making it noe a half circle. on the straight edge side you tuck your thumb in the center (as if it is balancing on the thedge on your thumb) and pull the ends down towards eachother. it cools and remains in that shape with the paper fortune neatly tucked inside!
