Well if one chooses to not eat meat eventually their body will adjust and they may never be able to eat it again, or one might will have to ween themselves on to it in small portions. Yes there are ways to get around the fat in meat and some of the toxins from the animals but a person cant live on just supplements with out going to their source to receive the nutritents that they need.

Wow. they are a lot of haters out there. I know that I sounded a little bit harsh, but i was ahocked when i found one of my friends to be a vegitarian so i just wanted a few reasons as to why people do what they do.

i don't eat meat because i feel bad that an animal had to die for my meal. People may think that we need meat to survive but I'm a vegetarian and I'm still alive and think of vegans they still live. Vegetarians have a stronger will power to not eat meat than a meat eater. I'm pretty sure animals don't want themselves eaten so i feel pretty guilty about eating another living thing that once had feelings. Meat to me is like murder and that goes against my morals. Meat is kinda like genocide to me because because people accept the killing of an animal because it is a different species just like human genocide where people allow killing of someone because they are from a different ethnic group.

Well I'm a vegetarian and I (still in school) have a 138 IQ and I'm gifted (the smarty classes) and I make really good grades. I haven't been a vegetarian my whole life, but that information has stayed the same my whole life. That in't exactly a statistic, I mean, I know PLENTY of really smart meat-eaters. And I'm sure their are plenty of stupid vegetarians. Tee hee hee...Einstien (sp?) was a vegetarian.

its not a part of my diet. i don't need it. no it doesn't need us to eat it. i've been a healthy vegetarian for 20 years. i'm not a vegetarian because of guilt or for any radical political statement. i'm a vegetarian because its a healthier diet than an carnivorous diet. i am much healhier as a vegetarian than i was before making the transition. honest. i do it because i feel better. now, i don't think about it as being different. it just is. i don't eat meat. its normal. for many of us, its just normal. it kinda makes me feel bad that you seem upset by my decision. why does it upset you so much? you put exclaimation marks after each statement you made. maybe you should examine why you're upset and not why i don't eat meat.

I don't eat meat because its so sick to kill an innocent animal so that I can eat it. Meat is bad for you, and yes, we evolved eating it, but the meat industry has become so horrible these days that I won't support it anymore. Humans can make choices. I made the choice to become a vegetarian.

To answer your first three exclamation-point questions:
1.) Meat is not a part of MY diet, nor the diets of millions of people all over the world
2.) We don't need it. Again, millions of people living, working thriving, competing, all while never touching animal products.
3.) Are you kidding? Cows, pigs and chickens WANT to be tortured and slaughtered by the billions? Sure. Whatever you say.

i dont because i find that it gives me more energy.
and you can stop being vegetarian and eat meat again. i have done so. a few years ago i decided that i wanted to be vegetarian and so i was for a few months and then i stopped. and about in a weeks time after i had stopped i lost 5lbs. but my energy level decreased. so you are wrong on that note... that once you stop eating meat that you cant ever eat it again.

How ignorant. Just another reason not to eat meat-our environment. Cows are the largest contributor to methane, which contributes to global warming. Not to mention the fertilizers to grow the corn to feed the animals, who defecate on the ground, which goes into our waters, etc. ad nauseum.

I eat meat but it's nice sometimes to just eat a lot of veggies, you get tired of chewing beef and chicken, it gets stuck in your teeth and stuff
