Do I really want to know where this honey comes from?

Ha, no pun intended!

How is adding more sugar cheating? There are organic sugars out there that aren't purified using animal products so that would be vegan friendly.

I must say though...the idea of something having the consistensy of honey and also being salty makes something white come to mind..maybe it's just me though? lol Sure hope you get the color right.

Edit:
I forgot to add that yes, beeless honey could be marketed towards vegans. My mom loves honey. It's the only thing she won't give up. If there were a beeless honey out there though, we'd stock up on the stuff.

This sound's like a really good idea. I'm sure if you take this matter in hand quite vigorously, a solution will appear. I don't know about the market for vegans, but I'm sure a few salty sea dogs would be interested. You could in fact kill two bees with one phone lol.

How about adding artificial sweetener? I don't know about vegans but since there is a massive bee die-out going on you could probably market it to just about anyone specially if it's cheaper than real honey, honey prices are going through the roof.

Might appeal to those who are allergic to honey (like me) if nothing else.

And to whoever said the bees are dying from cell phone towers, that's an urban legend. Honeybees have been dying since 1987 due to a parasitic mite. The only honeybees still around are domesticated honeybees becuase beekeepers put stuff on their hive to help keep the mite out.

The honey is NOT the problem with the 'missing' bees. Honeybees are the mainn pollinators. Without them crops will begin to fail.
No crops means no food means starvation...read famine...
beeless honey is just not a part of the real picture.

We use agave nectar instead of honey-- it tastes very nice, costs about the same last time I checked & it dissolves in cold beverages.
Another commom substitue for honey is rice syrup but I've only had it in pre-made baked goods so I'm not sure how it would compare as a kitchen staple.

Not exactly an answer to your question but why on earth would vegans be concerned about having beeless honey. It's a natural product that they make, they don't die from making it (that I know of) and even if we all stopped eating it they would still make it as that is how they were made.

It's a bit like asking a sheep to stop growing fleece for wool.

I would rather have real honey, allergies can be prevented or helped depending on what flowers the bees are havesting pollen from and then making honey,

and the color is a little washed out too? filter it thru your tube sock, then through some towels lined with bounce dryer sheets. then in a centrifuge, add 2 drops of diluted bleach per ounce of 'honey'. add some apple juice to get the honey color and 'voila' problem solved. then see a psychiatrist a.s.a.p., as you are insane, and need serious help.
