It could be a back problem. My husband has calcification between the discs T7-T9 (dianosed by MRI) which some times puts pressure on the nerves which to him feels the way you describe - a sharp pain in the chest, sometimes in the left arm. We did the same as you, took him to the doctors who found normal ECG's and no elevation in blood gas levels. This has been an on going problem for years, but each time we get it checked out just in case its not the same.

Kind of sounds like an irritated nerve from somewhere. Do you happen to use the computer mouse with your left hand? I get pain in my chest and arm when I'm on the computer for too long using my computer mouse. Do you sleep on your left side at night? That could be a possibility. And like you mentioned, it could be an irritated nerve or something in your spine. You should probably get x-rays and/or MRI done.

It could be due to trigger points in the pectoralis major or minor muscle radiating pain down the arm. Quite common but mostly overlooked by doctors. After all of the tests that you have had, it's quite likely it is caused by trigger points. I have treated this quite successfully many times. Find a certified neuromuscular therapist in your area, they should either be able to help, or rule out the probability of a trigger point referral pain.
i hope this helps.

Sounds like to me you have a rib out, or it may have flipped over. You need to find a good body mechanic - not necessarily a chiropractor either, but some one who has studied the Berry Method of Body Mechanics. Feels like someone is stabbing you every time you breath? It can be fixed and it is a little uncomfortable.

It most definitely could the cervical spine (neck) problem. Do you lie on couch or take unusual position in bed while watching TV? How about reading or watching TV while lying down?
I am retired, RN, but suggest consultation with chiropractor.
REALLY.

I would go to my family doctor and ask him/her what they think. If they can't help you they will send you to someone who can.
