"I don't know that atheist should be regarded as citizens, nor should they be regarded as patriotic. This is one nation under God."

I don't know when he said it. I read it in"The Atheist Bible: an illustrious collection of irreverent thoughts".

Its not an actual bible Tom T. Its just a collection of quotes from atheist. It makes more sense than the Christian bible with all its nonsense.

I don't think God ever had anything to do with this nation. In Daniel and Revelations, it calls this Anglo American nation a beast with 'horns of a lamb, and jagged teeth". Why would God support a nation, from which it's past present and future is based on war? Can you think of a time when Americans were not at war? And I believe that Jesus said to 'love thy enemy' not 'bomb thy enemy.'

Wait a minute! You say that you read this irreverent quote from President Bush in the Atheist bible and it, in itself is a collection of irreverent thoughts? What's the problem?

If that quote is accurate, and Bush did say it word for word, then I think he made a boo-boo.
I am a Christian, a former atheist.
I will stand side by side against anyone who denies the atheist the right to be an atheist because I think that is not what America is all about.

If the atheist bible said it, it must certainly be so. Even though Bush never said it. Incredible! You probably don't believe a word the real Bible says, yet you lap up the atheist garbage as though it was based upon absolute proof.

President Bush says lots of things with which I disagree. Firstly, he can say whatever he wants and so can you and I. As to my opinion of what he said, assuming he really said this exactly as quoted, I find it very unfair. There can be patriotism in one's heart regardless of one's religious belief.

But hey, I have to listen to repeated comments from Bush that gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of marriage. Being President does not mean you know or understand everything.

I did just read on robsherman.com/information that there are documents in the Bush library that in 1988 he did in fact say this. I would have to see them myself to believe it, but if he did, then he is a bigot and can not classify himself as patriotic in any sense of the word.

Who would Jesus bomb? Does anyone, discounting the mentally ill Right xtian, flying monkey Neo-conservatives, actually believe anything this fascist would-be dictator says, or support anything he's advocated for the past five years?

Unfortunately these wretches still constitute around 25% - 35% of 'Mercans who vote with the 'Haves and Have Mores' (Bush's base), and against their own self-interests.

May all of them have their homes forclosed, and may they all lose their jobs to the Chinese, and drown in a sea of debt slavery - for they 'richly' deserve to lose everything...

The angels of Heaven will rejoice when the Bush dictatorship is gone. Evil men like this must be voted out of office. In a democratic society, this is how they are removed. Please. During the next presidential election, remember to vote. And bring decency and order back to our society.

I don't believe George W. said that. Anyway, why would I believe what The "Atheist Bible " says??? And why do atheists have a bible anyway, I thought they weren't religious?

I am christian and some of the most honest, ethical people i know are atheist. You have to keep in mind this statement comes from a christian who happens to be a numbskull.
