Please no rude comments, I'm asking for my mom. A while ago my mom started getting outbreaks in her private area as well as her mouth. She had been depressed because two of her grandchildren moved 20 hours away from us and she used to take care of them when their mom would go to work. She loves those kids sooo much. After that she was really depressed. Any time that she gets angry or really really worried about one of her children or anybody else, she says that she can feel the burning and the upcoming warts. If she relaxes she doesn't get them. She went to the doctor and he told her she had herpes but not because of any sexual reason. He told her it was because she was depressed and worried too much. My mother has been happily married to my father for about 40 years and my mom isn't like that, she's a decent woman and would never do anything like that. Is this possible? I mean it sounds almost incredible.

Herpes simplex 2 is a virus of the genital area. As chicken pox is a herpes virus. The virus is passed from one to another. Your mom and or dad could have the virus for many years and never had a break out. Many times when one experiences stress is when the herpes sores appear.
A blood test will confirm if a person has herpes simplex 1 or 2. 1 being cold sores on the mouth nose etc. Even tho you carry the virus you might not have a break out for many years, or ever. I show positive for cold sores but have never had one .My grandson experienced his first and only cold sore after spending several weeks in the hospital. The nurse told him that he probably caught it in the hospital.
I hope this helps Look up this subject on the Internet and you will find a lot of informative information.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/herpestreatment20158sVD

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

Herpes is caused by a virus, and the virus has to come from somewhere it does not spontaneously pop into existence from stress. If you already have the virus in you, stress can cause outbreaks. Sometimes an initial infection is so minor you don't really know you have it, but then when you get run down you get an outbreak. A very high percentage of the population have the virus, and many who have it don't know it.

You wouldn't "catch" herpes from being upset/stressed. But, those are triggers that bring the virus out, so to say. Meaning, she has it in her body already, and those are the triggers for it-which is common.

It might be shingles she's getting. Shingles is related to the chicken pox virus we all got when we were kids. Shingles tends to show up when we're in our 30's or older, and stress can also trigger it. Try doing a search on shingles for more info on it, then get a second opinion from another dr!

I reread your question, and not to be too graphic, and you may not want to hear this about your parents lol, but they've proven that if you have a cold sore, and perform oral sex, you can transmit that to the private areas. So, that may also be what she has. And, like I first mentioned, it's common when we're stressed or upset for viral infections to "show up" at that time. Stress lowers our immune systems, making us more susceptible to colds etc. So, I would say yes, it's possible.

Yes. Absolutely. Herpes tend to break out on your lips and in your genital area if you have genital herpes when you are stressed or have been upset and depressed.
I was in nursing school about 13 yrs ago and broke out with herpes (shingles) up my hip in the middle of exams. I had mononucleosis over break and had one thing after another all stress related. My best friend in nursing school kept getting herpes- cold sores all over her lips to the point they would not let her in her clinicals at the hospital. Its all stress related.
Your mom need a break. Maybe she could call the grandkids and talk with them and even take a short plane trip to see them to refresh her.
