Can someone with sinus tachycardia controlled with medicine safely donate a kidney to a family member?

That person would really have to talk to the doctor in charge of the case.

Potential donors are required to undergo health screenings. I'm not sure how in depth they go. A person with cardiac history may not be able to donate...not because of risk to the recipient but risk to the donor. There is always a risk in any kind of surgery and I don't know how a history of tachycardia would come into play.

I was a kidney donor and had to undergo extensive testing. I was born with a heart murmur and still able to donate. The potential donor will have to be a compatable match. You must discuss this with a transplant coordinator.Good luck!

lol it depends on the compatability of the donor with the recipient (ie blood type, antigen, etc...) and the condition of the kidney whether it has received damage from any medication

And yea only a doctor can let you know or a blood bank
