Both choices are very healthy if done properly. If you are eating a wide variety of food than you will be getting all the nutrients you need.

Since you are just starting out and unsure, you may want to try vegetarian instead of vegan. As great as being vegan is, it is more restrictive and may give you the false impression that you can't eat and enjoy anything(since your recipes and food supply at home will be limited)

Make sure you do your research to be sure you have some healthy recipes to cook(trust me there are many). Purchase some snacks that are vegetarian friendly, as some items contain animal ingredients.

If you are not prepared than its going to seem as if there is nothing to eat, etc. My first try at becoming vegetarian(a few years ago) was short, I lasted about 2 days because I hadn't prepared, I didn't know what to cook and I hadn't gone shopping. Remember that with anything the first few days may be rough because you are learning.

First off, I ought to say your center should be one hundred% in it to be successful as both. You will have to be making this choice now not seeing that it's modern-day or healthful, however seeing that it's what is proper for the animals to are living a completely happy and healthful lifestyles. A lot of individuals get that side flawed; their center wasn't in it all of the means within the first situation, and so meat and dairy nonetheless tastes well to them. This is the flawed solution to method both and you are going to absolutely quickly end up an ex-vegan when you method it this fashion. Next, you ought to ought to MUST do your study! Do now not leap into this after which uncover your self ravenous and yearning the whole thing you used to consume! You ought to encompass your self with meals, ESPECIALLY as a vegan. Vegetarian and Vegan will have to certainly not be lumped in combination, as they're honestly utterly exceptional aspects of view. A Vegetarian (who is center is in it) believes that honestly drinking animal flesh is flawed, however they've no hindrance drinking dairy, eggs, a few even consume fish which is senseless to me..you get the photograph. Many vegetarians retain to put on animal merchandise additionally. A Vegan however believes in definitely no animal exploitation whatever. They suppose an animal is an unbiased sentient being, and that individuals haven't any proper to possess, make the most, or consume them. They suppose animals will have to certainly not be regarded as a commodity. Some Vegans do maintain rescued pets, however a few others suppose in no pets whatever. Judging through this query, it quite does not look like your center is in both of those areas. Perhaps you will have to do a little soul browsing as to what's proper for you. I urge you to look at Earthlings, Forks Over Knives, and Food Inc. earlier than settling on the "neither" choice. Daisy, as soon as once more, you're improper while you say no person who owns a puppy is vegan. I recognise many vegans with rescued pets. Yes, SOME vegans don't suppose in coexisting with animals, however others suppose it's first-class to maintain a puppy so long as they're handled good and have been rescued.

Being a vegetarian is, of course easier than being vegan. If you like milk, honey, eggs, yogurt, cheese, etc, and you buy free range and organic eggs, organic and no antibiotics milk and other dairy products, and everything else organic and (maybe) local, and stuff, it's okay (ethically) to be only a vegetarian, not vegan. I'm not sure who is healthier, vegans or vegetarians, but all I know is that either one is a lot healthier than meat-eaters, and what I can guess is that if you are vegetarian and eat organic, free range, no antibiotics (like I said above) and grain and grass fed animal products, and where the animals aren't abused, it probably is just as healthy as being vegan; but if you eat not all those things, its probably not.
What you can do is try being vegan, then if it's really hard, try vegetarian only, but please don't eat animal products that are from abused animals. It really is quite easy to only eat (mostly)oraganic, local, and (everything) no antibiotics, and nothing from cows that were fed meat. (or chickens, etc.)
good luck!!!

my personal belief, if you're going down that road, is that the more variety you have the healthier you will be.

For that reason I would think vegetarian is a healthier lifestyle than vegan. I believe a vegan lifestyle is very restrictive which isn't for anyone. Also, you limit the foods you can select which can lead to boring meals very quickly.

One of the disadvantages of being a vegetarian or a vegan is that you are denied iron in your body. If you decide to become a one of these, consider taking an iron supplement.
