you r asking a question that you already know the answer. of course you need to tell your significant other. you can pass herpes to other people thru intercourse. the best way is just to tell them out right. it isnt going to be easy but you have no choice but to tell them so you both can be treated with medication and information so u can control your outbreaks. there is no cure, you will have this the rest of your life. be more careful. im sorry that you didnt use more restraint and protection.

I can't believe people even have to ask this question. It indicates that you would consider not telling. That would be totally irresponsible and shows a huge lack of concern for someone you call "significant". I feel really sorry for your other half. OF COURSE YOU SHOULD TELL THEM!!!
You sit down with them, in a calm quiet environment and you just straight up say it. I have genital herpes.

Them??
if there is more then one which sounds as if there is you should be practicing safe sex even if you are not infected.
Of course you have the responsibility to inform any sexual or potential sexual partner that you are infected. That is after all the only right thing to do.
With so many things out now that either has no cure or that can in fact kill you, No one should even consider Not telling their partner when they are infected with any STD no matter which STD that may be.
You also should at all times be practicing safe sex if you know you are infected.

I have genital herpes. The day I found out I was affected, I told my boyfriend. He told me that we would work it out. He was glad that I told him. If the person really cared for you, then they would stay with you. If not then you are better of without them anyway. We use of condom now. If I feel anything funny going on down there, then we don't do anything at all. Me and my bf are still together.

you should ALWAYS tell potiential partnerss that you have herpes. they have the right to know. fear of rejection is no excuse. if he really cares then it wont matter that you have herpes.

Yes, it would be not nice to give them it without telling them it. When you about to have sex or a time when you feel comfortable in saying it.
