Inhaled insulin has already been approved.
Pumps are also available (subcutaneous).

There are implantable insulin pumps and a friend of mine, along with the rest of his pharmaceutical team, has been working on a time-release transdermal patch which should be available sometime soon.

inhalers are being trialed right now, will hopefully be released soon by the FDA.
