Are they any good? I have been a vegetarian for many years and would like to try the Morningstar Chik patties, but the fact that it looks like a chicken cutlet kind of turns me off. I can not stand the texture or taste of any meat, chicken or fish. Are the Chik patties any good? Tasty? Worth buying?

They are a good product, taste is good, especially with condiments like ketchup. But I am a vegetarian as well and got sick of them for the same reasons you are mentioning that they began to look and taste to much like the real thing and that turned me off. Ok once in a while. Try Licks nature burger.

Yes, the MorningStar veggie chik patties are good! They do kind of look like chicken and even taste a little like it too, but I think it more because of the spices, etc. that they use. At around four dollars a box (boxes contain four patties) that's kind of expensive, but they're worth it if you're looking for a meat alternative. Boca tends to be cheaper, but they're made by Altria which according to the "Better World handbook" get a FAILING grade when it comes to Economic Fairness, Comprehensive Peace, Ecological Sustainability,

This was about 10 years back , When I went vegetarian for a couple of years. I am not sure if they have changed them, But when I have tried them I liked them. The nuggets are not to bad. I think the ground meat had a rubber texture. Over all taste not too bad, I still buy the sausage patties for breakfast burritos. Those are the best to me.

They are OK but the Morningstar Veggie Patty is the best tasting. I have bought the chicken patties in a pinch and they were fine...some mustard improved them some as well...one thing, when you try them, warm them in a skillet and they will crisp up...

I personally prefer the boca chicken patties..(the vegan ones) However if you dont like the texture of chicken you may not like any of them. Of course it isnt chewy, stringy, or fatty like chicken, but it does attempt to have a smiliar texture. I wouldnt really say it tastes like chicken, but it does try to..so if you havent had meat in many years its very likely that it will taste like chicken to you.

I think they're delish! They don't really have the consistency of real chicken, if that's what you are worried about.
As a matter of fact, the longer you chew, the more your brain realizes that this has a taste all its own.
Give it a shot! The worst that could happen is that you don't like it. But you'll never know unless you try. :-)

I've never actually tried one of their patties, but if you do not like the consistancy or texture of meat, I would not suggest buying them because thats what they are made for, to resemble and recreate chicken. But if your up to trying it, why not? Go ahead and buy a box!

If you are not "Craving" chicken why watse your money of a pre-made product. You money will go much further buying fresh veggies.
My daughter in her transition stage to being wholly Vegan did use some Morningstar & Boca products & said they were pretty good.

I really like them. In fact, my daughter (10 yrs.) hates vegetables and I kind of tricked her into eating one of the chicken patties--she loved it. I told her it was vegetables and she is still fine with eating them. If you hate the taste of meat, you may not like these--they are pretty close.

They are pretty tasty. I use them occasionally by cooking one up and placing it on a hamburger bun with mayo, lettuce, pickle slices and tomato. If you dont like the taste of chicken however, dont bother buying them because that's what they taste like.
