I most enjoy hobo dinners, made with foil wrapped fresh fish fillets, potatos, onions, and lemon- cooked right next to the coals. Along with campfire coffee, it's a meal fit for a king.

Hi!
Freshly caught fish (trout preferably) steamed with wild garlic or hedgehog baked in clay. Anything available in the wilds would be nice. Once enjoyed a stew of earthworm, dandelion and squirrel - but it was hard work obtaining some of the ingredients. The tap-roots on some dandelions go very deep.
Wild berries are a great desert and dandelion root coffee or thistle tea is good to wash it down .
Good wishes.

Mountain pies: for anyone that is not familiar with those, you take two slices of bread, butter the outside, put whatever filling you want inside (I prefer pizza ones with the sauce, pepperoni, and cheese) and use a special utensil that presses the two slices together and put it in the campfire. You check it every so often until it's cooked and basically sealed into a high end version of the Hot Pocket.
