It should tell you everything that a body needs from plant sources
including excellent sources of protein.

While one doesn't need to eat meat to get all ones protein, it's definitely okay to eat chicken and lean meats on occasion to do so. There are definitely types of fish that are not smelly, like whitefish and orange roughy. Also, try tilapia.

Beans are a great source of protein. I make a meatless chili (don't drain the beans). My recipe is:

1 can dark red
1 big can light red
1 can navy beans
1 white onion
1 can very small diced tomatoes
1/2 a jalapeno
1 jar or can of mushrooms
(and if you are lazy like me, I just buy one of those seasoning packets that is for chili)
A little more salt
Fresh ground pepper
Olive oil for frying the onions before I add the rest

Then if you want put cheese on top or nothing. A great protein source (the chili, not cheese lol). Serve this with a salad that has chick peas, green peppers, etc. or something on it.

And the person that said eggs have high cholesterol is correct. HOWEVER, there was a study done recently that showed eggs don't actually raise the serum level of cholesterol when eaten. Eggs or egg-white omelets with vegetables are a great way to start the morning.

Using soy as a protein source is silly when there are many vegetable and plant sources other than soy. We already get so much soy in our diet when anything says "natural flavorings", it's usually soy. Don't add more soy until you talk to a doctor about it.

Flaxseed, grapes, walnuts, and tofu all have omega 3 and 6 which is found in fish. Eating one or two servings of these a day will get her the proper nutrition she needs. Other protien sources include soy, nuts, legumes, and most vegetables. Remember that eggs have high cholesterol and should be avoided. Dairy isn't very good either but it's a lot safer than eggs.

There are ways to prepare fish that reduce or eliminate the odor by adding spices or other seasoning.
You could also use canned fish that you don't have to cook in a salad.

Chickpeas, kidney beans, bake beans, lentils. All these are excellent bioavailable protein sources. Most of us, think that we need massive amounts of protein, just look at cows, horse, who eat grass, they have massive bones and very lean body. Good source of protein & calcium comes from green foods like broccoli, & others.

Don't worry, we don't need much.
