Channille - It was what I expected, but very good. Someone also said only the people who should see it are the ones who won't which I agree with. I heard the book was a million times better, but you know the movie industry. Frankly, I'm surprised the movie slipped through loopholes and was allowed to be made...

Does the jackace (I did that on purpose, yes) who wrote we could've spent the money feed starving children know 50% of grains go to animals for us to slaugher every year, which in turn could feed the entire starving world? Someone a little mad the movie freaked you out or what?

That's some truth that's REALLY inconvenient. I think there should be a larger movement around that movie, but sadly Americans favor taste over anything else.

The movie was okay. I read the book prior to viewing the movie and the book was 1,000 times better as far as information is concerned. BUT you have to look at it this way - they were trying to accomplish two different things.
I understand that they could not have an entire movie centered around the kill floor and the slaughterhouse, but since they did spend quite a bit of time there, I wanted to actually hear how dangerous that job is. From the two young men on the roof inhaling those chemicals to the people on the floor getting limbs mangled, cuts, bruises, etc. They showed it a little, but not much.
I was kind of hoping it would be a Michael Moore-esque montage of facts, footage and illustrations. I would read the book again before I'd watch the movie again.

I watched the movie about 3 weeks ago for the first time.. and yes I found it disturbing.. which is weird because I didn't think it would effect me in any way.. I mean I left the cinema's after watching super-size me wanting a burger... But I can say since watching FFN I have not touched any take-away fast food, or beef or chicken... I have am still eating seafood but that is prepared differently so i will continue to eat it.. The big test was actually last night I went out to dinner with a friend to an asian restaurant fast food style.. and I read the menu and all the meat dishes made me cringe.. I opted for wholewheat soba noodle stirfried in soy sauce & garlic infused oil with mushroom and capsicum and beansprouts and peanuts... and I have never tasted anything quiet so good from a fast food place either!!.. what was your thought's on the movie?? I was personally disgusted that we can legally be served food like that!!

I thought it was good. It's always good to get the word out about stuff like that. I already had a pretty good idea about what really goes on in the fast food industry (food industry, period really) so it wasn't all that surprising. But I know a lot of people don't even think about that kind of stuff so I'm glad the movie was made. It might have opened some eyes - but then again - more often than not, the type of person that really NEEDS to see a movie like that.. are the ones that aren't interested in seeing it! Which is frustrating.

Anyway, I liked the movie itself for what it stands for. But I still expected more from it. I sort of felt like it ended rather quickly and I wanted more depth. I also had to close my eyes during the graphic slaughter house scene. I have a vegetarian background (I do eat fish now in limited quantites) and I just didn't want to witness that particular scene. I don't need to see the blood and gore to know what goes on in there. :(

I didn't see the movie, but I read the book... eww... I had already given up on eating at fast food places way before I read the book... but reading it just made me sick... I was like, "eww I actually ate that stuff before." ... anyways, I thought that the book was good... I guess that means I would have liked the movie:]

didn't really enjoy the movie; the dialogue was poorly written. i have yet to read the book. i think it's sad when people still eat at fast food places after they've seen the movie (or read the book) and know what's *really* in their food. people have no self-control!

I viewed a trailer for it, and I think it should be a commercial for TV. At least part of the trailer. I never saw the actual movie, though.

There are many other video clips that I think should be commercials, but they are too graphic.

It's the one where it shows people dropping "food" and stuff, right?
