If I were single, it would be kind of an issue since someone who eats meat would probably have very different ideals than I do. If we seemed compatable on several other levels & enjoyed each other's company, I would probably give the other person a chance.
When I 1st became veg. I had been seeing 1 person for quite awhile. He continued eating meat but when we went out he'd always have a veggie meal (his idea). Occasionally he'd assert (seemingly out of nowhere) that "there's nothing wrong with eating meat" or "that's what animals are for." Come to think of it, we really didn't have much in common except enjoying some of the same films.
Another person I dated for awhile didn't eat meat around me for the most part, but thought it was really funny to talk about it over the phone. Strangely, most of the guys who I either went out with or who professed an interest in going out really liked calling me up & describing their pork chops as if this was supposed to intrigue me.
When I began seeing my SO he ate meat & I told him I wouldn't cook it for him & would prefer if he didn't bring it into the house so he'd only eat it if we went out. He enjoys my cooking & became curious about the things I ordered when we went out & eventually became vegetarian himself. The funny part of this is, he used to think *all* vegetarians were weird & misguided ;-)

My boyfriend and I have been together for over two and a half years, and I became vegan about three or so months ago. We had our issues at first, but he totally respects my choice. He still would like me to cook meat for him, and since that was something we had talked about and I have done before, as long as he buys organic, free range meat, I will cook it. He is always so willing to go to restaurants that have food I can eat, and supportive in general.

If I weren't with my boyfriend, I probably wouldn't date other meat eaters though, just to make things easier on both of us.

I've been dating a great guy for over two years now and he eats meat. I make vegetarian meals for him and he enjoys them and on a rare occasion I make him meat. Normally when he cooks he just makes his with meat and leaves it out of whatever I am eating. It doesn't cause a problem at all. As long as he isn't antagonistic about it I don't mind.

I never really thought about it until I SAMPLED out a situation...
I was living a life where I thought I was going to straight to my VEGAN QUEEN but I am LAME and I found myself in a PECULIAR situation

Anyways it was PLACED juxtopositionally RIGHT in MY FACE as to make the motion: she said "I eat meat" and it SET ODDLY with me and did not jive ... really it did not but I was in shock for reasons of something strange , it was or is almost like some big set up... this WHOLE THING, I mean ~ WE ARE ALL suppossed to be vegan... we just went astray... and so it goes .... we have got to get ourselves back to the garden

Age because an issue if one person hasnt had that much of life experience to understand the other person in some issues. Young people tend to have a carefree attitude that can be fun but it also might be annoying in situations that an older person may consider serious issue.

I know I would have a problem dating someone who ate meat. Call me shallow or whatever but I just wouldn't do it. Besides I have much larger dating problems at the moment lol.

I'm vegan but my wife eats shrimp, dairy, eggs and the like.
It doesn't thrill me and I would still be with her if she ate other animals, but she wants to raise our son vegan and I would have a big problem otherwise.

Nope, not at all... my fiance actually tried to go veg with me a few months ago, but he just couldn't do it. It wasn't a big deal to me. I don't want to make him change who he is, and he doesn't make me change for him. It works out quite well, actually. We look out for each other's lifestyles, even if they're different.
