MYTH
Cucumber contains a special ingredient that helps to reduce swelling around the eye or bags under the eyes.

FACT
More than 90% of the cucumber consists of water. It is the cooling effect of the water in the cucumbers on eyes, together with increased humidity, that reduces the swelling.

I have never used cucumber. I found that if u get your eyes burned from welding there is nothing better than to take a very clean Irish potato ,and cut it half into. With a spoon scrape the potato like a fine mashed potato and close the eye and put it in on your eye lids . The starch is very soothing to the eye.
