I became a vegetarian about 1 month ago and everyone in my family can't seem to understand it. I need a comeback because they tell me " How can you not eat meat but eat vegetables that have been fertilized with animal feces or remains?"

I've never heard of vegetables being fertilized with remains. Poop, yes... but not remains. Manure is a naturally occuring product which fertilizes plants in the wild too. It doesn't hurt the cow/chicken/whatever that produced it, so it's a non-issue for vegetarians (vegans often have a problem with it though).

If you want a comeback... I'd say something to the effect of... "how is animal flesh any different from human flesh... would you eat HUMAN flesh??". I don't care what kind of creature it comes from... flesh is flesh. Once you accept that fact... it's pretty stomach-turning to eat meat.

You don't need a comeback. They are ust trying to guilt you into eating meat again. Sounds like they have some control issues. When they say it just shake your head and ignore it. I know it's hard to do but the more you let it bother you the more they will think they are getting closer to convincing you to eat meat. let them think what they want and you do what you choose to do. Eventually the criticism will die down.

If I eat vegetarian only, I'm not killing the animals for my food. Fertilizer is a waste product, and it will happen anyway. Eating plant based food is better for my body and the environment, and I hope you'll respect my decision.

Don't go on a soapbox about your new choices. Just say no thank you when offered meat. You wouldn't need to explain having a hot dog, you don't need to explain not having one.

I am not vegeterian, and I cannot understand the need some veggies have to inform everyone about it. I know you get harrassed at times, but maybe its because you talk about it so much.

No need for a snappy comeback, just rise above it all. Tell them "Do I tell you what to eat?"

Although the "eat a dick" one is pretty funny.

Tell them you don't feel like turning your body into a graveyard. If your family is one of those families who consider one's body to be one's temple, then telling them your body is not a graveyard will pretty much shut them up.

"The feces and remains didn't suffer so that I can become fat, lethargic, stupid, and dead of a heart attack"

If everyone didn't support the exploitation of animals that creates the supply, then they wouldn't have that half-*ssed argument.

Dare them to watch this:

If they can't handle it, call them a bunch of hypocrite p*ssies!!!

they are not smart *** comebacks but more of the shut the hell up variety.

"its my choice what i eat and ill thank you to respect it"

"uh because I feel like it"

"i prefere veggies to animal flesh"

you could also tell them to mind thier own business.

buy organic and shut them up.
