I have genital warts... I was wondering how long is the remission time usually? I haven't had them for about a month? or more?

And... When I went in for my first pap it hurt when they did cultures (where the physician swabbed the cervix) Does this mean I might have a sore and pre-cancerous cells? Or was it just because I was tense?

I have had HPV since January

Sometimes genital warts never come back (it's not like genital herpes where most people get several outbreaks during their life). Just because the warts might be physically gone though, doesn't necessarily mean the virus that causes them is (HPV). I've read anywhere from 30 - 50% of people who have had genital warts treated, ended up developing them again.

I have personally had HPV for 6+ years. I had genital warts from it about 2 years ago and have never had them come back (luckily).

And, most women find getting cervical cultures done very uncomfortable. There can be pressure and pain when this is done, but it's not a "sign" that you have precancerous cells. If your pap smear comes back abnormal they'll most likely want you to have a colposcopy or biopsy done. Having one of these done can determine if you have precancerous cells or cervical cancer. Don't worry! As long as you stay on top of your pap smears you should be just fine!

Take care and good luck!

It can unfortunately flare up at anytime. I can go over 12 months without a flare up and then sometimes get them twice in 2 months its all about how good your immune system is and what you do when you do get a flare up

Paps can also be painful but especially when they are actually taking scrapings. I had to have one every 6months for the past 3 1/2 years and sometimes I actually bled this can also be because the HPV can change the cells also can have to do with what time of the month that it is. If it does come back with having abnormal cells please do not stress just continue to have the regular paps that your dr will suggest to you

Sometimes they never come back and sometimes they're everywhere all of the time. Just make sure you get you check-ups on time to make sure you don't get cervical cancer ok? And the Aldara cream works but only on little tiny warts...Good luck sweetie. Oh, and I too always hurt at examinations. It may be from the disease but it may be from being tense...ask your doc.

No its high quality. i've got had all 3 doses of it now and its in simple terms the comparable as the different injection. you will possibly be able to experience it a splash on your arm and afterwards it is going to likely be bruised for an afternoon or so. Its not something to fret approximately, particularly whilst you're oftentimes high quality with them :) x

Your answer will come when you call your doctor to find out the results of your pap test.

There is no remission time. You have breakouts whenever your immune system is not working well because your sick or if it is trying to work on something else.
