I have this bump on the right labia majora. It showed up about 2 weeks ago. It isn't red or pink or anything, its just the same color as my skin. Almost looks like a mosquito bite. It has never been painful or itchy and it has never oozed out any secretions. I tried popping it and it wouldnt pop, I finally squeezed out a little tiny bit of pus, but it wont pop since then. So I dont think its a pimple. I thought maybe a bug bite, but its still here 2 weeks later. I do shave, but it is not the same thing as an ingrown hair. I went to the doctor, she said from my description of no pain, etc, it doesnt sound like herpes, but I am sexually active& when she looked at it, she said the circular shape concerened her. She told me not to freak out until the results come back, but she went on explaining what i would need to do if it was herpes. I wont get the results for a few days and Im freaking out. I dont know what to do. Could it be a cyst, swollen hair follicle or is it most likely herpes?

If you are concerned that it is Herpes, you can get a blood test to determine if it is or not. There is also the possibility that it is a genital wart (HPV). You can also request to get the blood test for HPV. Try not to freak out and just get the tests so you can know for sure either way. Good luck!

Herpes generally shows up as many sores at once (especially early on) and they are VERY sensitive blisters that pop and bleed. Gross, right? But doesn't sound like what you have. Cysts can show up anywhere and be unsightly but not painful. A herpes test is generally pretty quick (like, immediate) so I'm sorry you're having to wait, but I'll be you're fine.

A dermatologist may actually be able to diagnose this more accurately than a primary dr. or gynecologist...no disrespect to either. There are disorders that cause pimples/boils in the groin/pubic area such as hidradentitis suppurativa that often just get diagnosed as folliculitis.

Hidradenitis is often misdiagnosed by doctors not familiar with the disorder (early diagnosis is critical) and doctors not specializing in skin disorders generally are unfamiliar with this condition. Dermatologists are familiar with most all skin disorders, so, if you have continual problems with any sort of pimple or boil type lesions in the groin/pubic area, please consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

I get those occasionally. I asked my mom about it, and she got it too when she was younger. I think that they are pimples, but they are VERY different from the ones in other locations. I'm clean and abstinent, and I get isolated incidents every few months just as you described.
