Congrats on quitting! Unfortunately, the thing that is going to help coughing up mucus is time and time alone. I smoked for 12 years and quit 1 1/2 years ago. It took about 8-10 months before my lungs really started healing and I didn't cough anything up anymore. Don't give up! It will get better!

Healthy foods. Grapefruit, Citrus, any green leafy veggie, not white like potatoes or cauliflower. And, it takes more than 2 weeks. I have known people to have had stopped smoking for months who are still feeling the pressures.

I am allergic to smoke. Is that a positive or a negative. I love to play pool and can't even be around the club scene. It's such a drag.

Pick your poisons gently. Everything in moderation.

Best wishes for taking your health seriously enough and quit smoking. I think you are simply going through a detoxing phase and should be OK soon. If not, see a good homeopath.

I've heard that scientists invented special lipstick that helps women to quit smoking. It consists of special herbs and components which suppress desire to light up. http://cigarettes-smoke.net/?action=news&discount=cigarettes&news=31
