The "rapture" means the catching up of the Saints to be with Jesus when He returns. Here's what Jesus had to say about it.

Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

I feel the modern day concept of a rapture is distorted or fabricated to convert people to Christianity by use of fear, like the doctrine of eternal torment.

However you interpret it, the Bible makes it clear that the "catching up" will occur at the same time of resurrection. Some people see this as being fulfilled in AD 70. It's all opinion.

(1) 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

(2) Before the tribulation

(3) I do not believe that God would allow the Saints (Born Again Believers) to go through the tribulations intended for the wicked.

Hello... Loved Me:

I do not believe in the rapture as presented from pulpit, in the media and from popular publications.

Why? It is an invention of Satan to negate one of the most wonderful prophecies that prove Jesus is the Messiah and substantiates His mission.

I'm referring to the 70th week that was appointed for the Messiah--but it is falsely attributed to the Antichrist, instead.

And in this scenario, predictions of the earth's total destruction at Armageddon are excused to include a new-creation with God reigning in the near future; those who believe this fable will accept Satan as he impersonates Christ's alleged millennial reign.

Let me say this, though, the resurrection of the saints is my blessed hope. And a new earth with Christ reigning as what the Bible calls, the last Adam, will surely happen, but not as popularly thought.

Let me suggest a site that unfolds the only prophecy that twice says it will not be understood until "the end of the days."

God has special truths for those who are "wise." Select: http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Yes. Paul, Jesus, and John all spoke of the second coming. While I think that some have distorted it, I feel that the Bible tells us exactly what is to happen. I am more of a pre-trib rapture person. That belief comes from my study of the Word.

Modern day doomsayers. Give it some time, pretty soon they'll go back to crying "the end is nigh!"
