What do you mean with a "crompet" in UK?
One of our customers from UK visitted our office years ago. We went to have food and to drink after work in the evening. He drank a lot.
He whispered to me "(She is a) Crompet." repeatedly when he saw a girl or woman several times on his way back to his hotel. I guess it sounded crompet, but might have been clompet. I can't distinguish r and l in hearing though I can pronounce them respectively.
Please answer the above question and help me.
