Well, yes. He is very smart and disguises things to make what is dull (bad) look shiny and great.
He is very cunning and intelligent and is using every medium, every avenue he can against mankind because he realizes he has such a short time left to exist. He has been cast down here to earth with us having great anger, barred (he and his demons) from every returning to heaven amongst the spirit realm ever again.
His main goal is to destroy as much of God's creation (namely mankind) as he can before he is permanently destroyed after the 1,000 year reign. But during that 1000 year reign he will be locked away having no influence over the survivers, and those resurrected after Armageddon. After the 1000 he'll be released for a little while as God's last test for mankind. If satan does influence anyone at that time, he and those ones allowing themselves to be influenced will be cut off permanently never to be seen or heard from ever again.
He has power and you should keep your guard up daily, and continue to gain accurate knowledge about Godly standards. This is how you are able to stand up to him by keeping your suit of (spiritual knowledge) armor about you. If not, you're a lying duck waiting to be plucked.

Friend: Satan has no power over you, the spirit of evil only fools us into thinking that the negative events in our life are the work of Satan. The negative desires that we all have do not have to control what we do. Any power Satan has, is there because we allow it.

He has the power to tempt and deceive and to lie. If you are a Christian his power to tempt is limited by God.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Yes and he uses it on you all the time. If he didn't you would be a perfect human being that NEVER lied, stole, lusted, etc. I'm sure you have done all those things at least once
