I'm wondering if a grey or even a black toilet seat would look fine on a white toilet. I don't want a white toilet seat. I have a bathroom that has small black & grey ceramic floor tiles. The ceramic shower tiles are white with smaller black tiles running horizontally at eye level. The toilet, tub, and porcelain sink are white. The sink counter is a greyish marble. The bathroom hardware (towel bar, etc) is silver.

There are actually toilet seats in black, grey and many other colors. Home Depot online has black and grey colored toilet seats.

I can't speak from experience but I'm visualizing it and I think it would look great but it would make the toilet stick out a lot more than if it was white.

I have a toilet with a blue lid and seat. (Not my choice, I'm a renter) But it doesn't look out of place other than that the rest of the bathroom is: Green sink, yellow tub, brown walls and floor, marble(ish) sink counter. Ugh. But to answer your question, I think it would look fine. There are many different types of toilet seats/lids for sale if you look around, and I'm sure the makers of those specialty seats don't expect someone to have a toilet that matches exactly to their seat (ducks or other animals, marble, fruits, seashells, etc) You don't have to stick with a white seat just because you have a white toilet. I'd say go with either one that matches your bathroom best. Keep in mind, the darker the color, the more it will shout for attention. :-)

LOL I didn't even think race on this one. I hate public bathrooms, either way. I guess with black ones, you can't see with might be sitting on there. But what I have always been terrified of ever since I was a little child, was those scary automatic toilets. I still hate those today. lol

I don't think they make a grey or black one... but I don't think a matching toilet seat is real important. If you must why not but a matching cloth set to get the color you want????

Sounds nice - if you can match the grey to something else, it would look great.
