i go to the church every sunday and if I have lots of time, I will spend my time in the church, listening to the priest. At the church I fell that I'm home. Going to church is the highest form of prayer for us.

Why, a lot of Church's and religions are to busy telling us what to do ,a what not to do, and many forget about the true meaning of God, we don't need a church we can pray anytime anywhere and still have the faith we need in God. And why Sundays i go to church on a THURSDAY, and it's about love, peace, understanding, and helping others, it can also be fun, and it's often full, unlike a lot of Church's, plus we have many from other faiths coming to us, Christians, Muslims, Roman Catholic, and many more.
So although I agree with some of what you have said, the Church's need to get their act together if they want to fill seats
Love & Peace

Yes it is sad that not many English People go to Church on Sunday, indeed many of them have no Faith at all. Is the Nation better off because of that, Take a long Hard look around you. More Murders, Sex Attacks, Porn. Robberies, etc. etc. Yes there are some People who say they are Christian and act so, but they are not, however, God alone knows what their true thoughts and Acts are, and he will be the Judge. Many Christians go to Church, for fellowship, and to Worship and give Thanks to God for his Goodness to them, and to pray for those in need of any Race, Colour, Creed or No Creed. The Christian Churches continue to send vast and unknown amounts of Aid Worldwide to help those in need. The Churches throughout the World big and small have been built by those who worship there out of their own resources, and for the needs as they saw fit, When was a gun put to their heads to pay? There have been and always will be closure of some Church buildings, but there will be new ones opening as well, and in Fact the Christian Church worldwide is growing strongly. To all Christians remember God's Word to Joshua, " Be strong and of Good Courage" and the last words in the Gospel of Matthew, "Lo I am with you, even to the End of Time" My last few words are, in My Country and City, we have seen Churches closed for years, re-opening with large congregations. To those with no Faith, Remember, when you feel the need to seek God, he is there to listen. May God Bless you all, and may we all work for Peace and Justice for all throughout the World.

I don't really think you have the right to speak for everyone in England, do you? There are thousands of people who do go to church every Sunday, if not on other days as well. We live in a free society where people have the right to choose whether or not they want to go to Church.
And just for the record - it is possible to believe in God, worship him and live a good and moral life without going to Church.

I agree. And yes, I go to church most every Sunday. However, the tragic closing of any church is most likely that church's own fault for not attracting new members. In my experience, most (but not all) churches are so preoccupied with preserving tradition and feeling comfortable that they don't really try to reach out as Christ commanded all believers. The unavoidable, mathematical, actuarial consequences of that style of being church inevitably means the church will die off little by little until it is no more. Tragic. Instead, Churches should be willing to change, to reach out to new people, and be willing to do the hard work of Christian discipleship and growth while staying true to the Bible.

Wrong! I'm in the UK in a new frontiers church, I go to church because Jesus came to establish his church on earth so we can worship as his body, and show his love to the world.

No because I'm an atheist. I haven't been to a church service since 1984. Only times I step into one is for the occasional wedding or funeral.

Yes, I go to church on Sundays. And usually on Wednesdays, too. We go to worship and for fellowship with other Christians, and to discuss/explore God's Word. We also work on volunteer service projects.
I live in the U.S., by the way.
