I got into IIT-Roorkee for Mechanical Engineering.

BITS, Pilani has copied the trend of IIT entrance exams.
Earlier, there was no BITSAT. Now, there is. I don't know, what is it with my dad. He's BITS Alumni. He's not happy.

I hate it. I say BITS sucks a big time and IIT rocks. BITS is there because it's been there since 1929, otherwise it's nothing, I say.....nothing.

hey i too am goin to join mech but at bits pilani... though i got IIT civil at madras or mech at roorkee and etc..

actually studying in india is almost same everywhere and the difference between IIT's BITS and NIT's is very less.... to put in figures...
say IIT is 100
BITS is 97
and NIT's is 95...
so u see it all depends upon the individual efforts that small difference can easily be regained....

many students feel this ( in most cases students realize this after collage is about to be over) and actually in the end it does'nt make much difference....... even if u consider the placement aspect almost 80% of the students(in the mentioned institutes) don't go for a core job.... so whats the point??.. think..

so u can conclude that education in india sucks.. which is an obvious fact.......

the prop with IIT's is it is only a great hype .. and thats it.. and so too is bits....

IIT is considered the most prestigious institute in India, and I'm sure it has the better campus. I'm going to take the IIT - JEE four years from now. But it really depends. My friend is bent on joining BITS Goa even if he is selected in JEE. BITS has good facilities. I don't see why you say it sucks. BITS is also prestigious.

Look, just because IIT students get higher - paying jobs does not mean BITS is nothing, OK. Both are prestigious institutes, the entrance exams are tough. Exams like JEE are coming up in many places now.

IIt rocks, I agree, but BITS is not nothing compared to IIT.
