Basically, I'm 15 years old, 5"2 (I know its short), and about 55kg (121 pounds). The other day a guy at my school told me that I was quite curvy from the back, I know I've always been that way, but I didn't think anyone else noticed. He told me it was a good thing, but really, I don't want to be seen as fat to anyone. I've always told myself I'm going to loose weight but I love food way too much and just can't stand starving myself. Also, I've got my GCSE's exams and everything so starving myself is the last thing I would do at this age.
I already know what exercise I can do to get rid of my weight, so I don't really need to know more about that. However, what I do need to know is what food I can eat that will not put any weight on me at all. I already know about fruits and stuff, but they don't really last long. And I eat meat aswell.
So, I'm 55kg (121 pounds) and I want to loose 5-10kg. So what I want to be is 45-50kg (100-110).
If you can help me, please do.
Thanks

the worse thing you can do at your age is go on a starvation diet. it will put you into a dieting cycle that will make you GAIN weight over the years.
work on maintaining your weight.... if you eat a roll (like a hot dog size roll) with a bit of lean pastrami or chicken breast or other lean meat or egg it will fill you up and you wont over do it with the calories.
dont eat fruit alone because it raises your sugar level very quickly and then it drops and you get tired or hungry again. eat fruit with protein or even fat... for instance... an apple with 5-10 almonds or 5 wallnuts.
if you just need something to chew on as you study. carrots and celery are best.

There is no food that won't put weight on a person. We have seen many scams (mainly from the US) that swear that a poder or a pill will reduce a persons weight. The con market in the UK is worth over £100 million pounds per year. Like I said, the "CON" market as that is all it is, one big con. We all need food to live but overindulgence and a lack of excercise can become problematic. Remember, man had to run far and fast when hunting for food. To lose weight, first you need to understand your own body and how food works. Only you know your body but I can help you understand about the food. First of all, food provides energy. All natural food contains salt and sugars. The body needs some fatty foods. The thing that happens with the sugars are the sugars are converted to energy of which you burn up in everyday activity. In winter, we need slightly more energy to keep warm. If the body has too much sugar, it will converet excess sugars to fat and store the fat for later use. When we eat fat, that is also stored for conversion when we need it. However, because we no longer run around with spears and go for spells without food, we don't really need any excess as we have food on demand now. That is the problem, food on demand means we don't need to store fat. The solution to your problem is therefore simple enough, skipping snacks won't harm you or even skipping one or two meals a week. Get some form of regular excercise, try cycling, jogging or a team sport such as netball, tennis etc. This will soon get rid of the excess weight but once you are down to that weight, remember that your lifestyle has been reducing your weight and you will therefore have to increase your food intake slightly to keep a good balance.

The only food that won't cause you to put on weight, so far, is water. It contains zero calories.

But you can't just survive purely on water. That's not the way to lose weight, either.........

So, we go back to food that contains LOW calories. What are these food?

Well, try out these food:

1. Raisin bran cereal, wholewheat bread, brown rice, oat bran

2. Raisins, dried apricot

3. Yogurt with fresh fruits

4. Baked tortilla chips

5. Grilled chicken/fish

6. Water with lemon, lime or orange slices

7. Nuts like almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts

Don't eat fast food, fatty meats, high-fat dairy stuff (cream, butter, fuul-fat cheese), deep-fried foods, candy, creamy salad dressings and greasy snack chips.

Those little 100 calories in a pack thing. It takes 32 of those little packs to gain a pound. Vegetables fill you up with a little amoutn of calories. Fruits has the same effect. Eat your omega 3's and some chicken.
