I use the Adobe PDF Writer print driver. It should come with Acrobat Professional. In MS Word, manually select File > Print and then choose Adobe PDF from the drop down printer selection box. Then hit "print" and it should bring up a "save as" box that will let you name your PDF file.

There are two ways to do it, one you already have tried. The second way is via PDF Printer, yea Adobe PDF 6.0 Pro also install a printer, just try to print your any document from Print Option and select PDF Printer, (it may have some diffrenet name), and print, it will ask you to save file, just name it, and you have it....
Good Luck
