Never worn one before...want to buy one but not sure if the above thing will happen? Or is it better not to wear those in airports instead?

Traveled often, fly sometimes, always wear an underwire, and never set off the metal detector with it. Have had to remove shoes though.

I've worn a knee brace with more metal than an underwire and it didn't set it off. My wife asked security the last time we had to clear security and the woman there said that they sometimes do. It really depends on what the wire is made from if it is steel it would most likely trip it, aluminium on the other hand most likely won't

I only wear underwire bras, and have multiple piercings with stainless steel jewelry. I fly very frequently, and none of those have ever set off a metal detector. I think that the amount of metal is so little that it doesn't even register. Don't worry about it.

i never thought of that......

i dont think it will set it off, it never has before, and most women wear underwire bras.

Some do..it depends if they have been calibrated or not..there have been times women end up having to get undressed in another room because of them.
Good luck.
