Say for instanse a guy said I am into led zeplin and know how to play immagrant on my guitar

and I said thats hot dude

would that be flirting?

I said "wow, Im into led zeppelin, too" = flirting

I said "thats cool. do you know any other songs?" = not flirting

Only because of the use of the word "hot" it would be mild flirting. If it was said with batted eyelashes or a touch of his arm, that would REALLY be flirting!

It really depends on if that's what you intended. If you wanted to flirt with him, then yes. If not, it's just a compliment.
