Something a bit creepy happened to me andnow that it has been decades later I can actually think about it without crying. My dad was killed by a mugger and I witnessed the whole thing happen when I was just 15. When I came to my dads side he was in bad shape but still conscious. I told him he would be fine and help was on the way. He looked at me and said there is something you should know. He told me that every religion is wrong and that he would not go to heaven but another dimention. I told him to stop talking and calm down. He died at the hospital later that night so I never talked to him again. Does anyone know what he might have been talking about? He went to church and was a cristian so I am confused.

Religion is the the Control System that keeps us in Spiritual Ignorance. I am talking about mainstream Religions. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Wicca and the worst of all is Scientology. I will however say... Buddhism and Hinduism are the more Spiritual of all the Religions combined. They actually teach a Spiritual Path. But they are still filled with "Control" as they are taught by man. Sorry if some of you get your panties in a Knot reading my words, but hear me out and you will understand what I am saying. Even if you do not agree with me... I known you will ponder upon my words. All these Religions including New Age Religions were put in place to control us and keeps us in Spiritual ignorance. Just the fact that there are so many religions is enough to confuse anyone as to what the "Truth" is. The Religions are always fighting amongst each other as to who has the Truth. Look at the world today... Wars being waged such as the Muslims fighting the Western Crusaders of Christianity. This has been going on for Centuries. All these Religions have on thing in common. They all have a Sacred Book that they all follow and deem that it is the true Word of (their) God. The problem with that is these books were written by man. The even bigger problem is that they were all altered time and time again by man. For example.... it is like telling a story in your office at work. By the time it gets around the whole office... it has changed. People add in their own little twist to the story and so forth. Now imagine that same story being told for over 2,000 years. You know damn well the story will be quite different if it even is the same story at all. I would have to say that the Bible is the most distorted of all the Religious books. It has been rewritten so many times it is not even funny. Today there are a countless number of versions of the Bible.

Had your Dad ever searched out the 'Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints'??

The reason I ask is because the young Joseph Smith, at about your age then, inquired of God which church was right, and which he should join.
He was told by God that he should join none of them, for they were all wrong, and had departed from the true, pure Gospel as Jesus Christ had taught it, and had had His genuine apostles, who directed His Church, all killed off by the wickedness that prevailed in ancient Israel at the time.

The young Joseph was then called to be the first prophet of the Last Days, and Jesus re-established his true and living Church through him.
But if your father had not really had opportunity to search out this true Church, he may have realized that all religions known to him were not true.
It is very possible that the Holy Ghost may have inspired him that, because the fulness of truth was not known to him, he would not go directly to Heaven, but he would have a chance to hear the true and pure Gospel AFTER this life.
Therefore he would not go to heaven, but go to this "other dimension", which we, in Christ's Church, call 'the spirit world', until he had a chance to hear the full and pure Gospel of Christ in that spirit world, so that he could then truly accept the real religion, and thereafter go to heaven, when he was ready.

DO YOU FOLLOW WHAT I MEAN??

Don't worry, I'm still updating my answer.

ABSOLUTELY!! I've studied comparative religion and it my belief that the new age is right: After death we enter what is known as the Astral Plane being a carbon-copy of Earth. You can view this is a stop and go station, where we wear the same clothes, go to the same schools, eat the same food etc. The only difference is we don't have to worry about finances, hunger, sickness or even time since we can live as long as we want. Hey, think this idea is completely off the wall? Consider that Hindus believe in a transitory realm called Swarga Lokda. Buddhists believe in 7 realms called

This part you are not going to believe:

NOTE TO BARBARA:

NOPE...all religions do not lead to the same place for they are not a part of God. They ARE God based upon what He is trying to accomplish. But that doesn't mean religion in it's present form is going to be of any help to anyone. Whether we like to admit it or not, religions just like governments are constantly evolving since dogmas are exchanging and/or incorporating new information. Sometime in the future, people will eventually move beyond the need for a fixed belief and religion will just sort of die off. Maybe 500 yrs. maybe 5,000 yrs. We don't know. One day, Islam will be producing the same level of coroporation that christianity is now.

- I laugh at all the silly people down below quoting from the bible. They still think answers somehow come from outside themselves!! At the end of the day, people need to realize that truth comes from within and not necesarily from without. And what is that truth? That there is no truth to be discovered. It's sad but SO MANY people stick to the bible thinking it's a 'safe bet' and not realizing there are SO MANY different levels to spiritual development. Afterall, working through our own truth is one of the reasons we came down here to Earth in the first place...this process taking many liftetimes to perfect untill at last they are all erased as if all for nothing. Remember even Jesus said: "The heavens and the Earth will fall away." But in there being nothing...well, that is a conversation for another day :-)

If your dad was a christian then maybe he wasn't satisfied with his beliefs so he was trying to tell you that there is no religion but honestly speaking he was wrong in this. You do need to follow a religion but a religion that satisfies you. You could study islam for instance or judaism or if you are contented with christianity then God help you in showing you the righteous path.

I am truly sorry for your loss. My father was a devout Catholic. He was declared dead twice and brought back. He told me he saw nothing and felt disappointed. He still believes in God, but wants to learn about the other religions. Maybe your father saw something as he was dying or didn't see anything and changed his mind. If he was a good person in his life, I don't think you need to worry about his afterlife.

Perhaps he was trying to tell you there's no way to know which religion, if any, is correct, and that most religions are just ways for people to cope with the harsh reality of life.

EDIT: I should say that I, too, am very sorry for this tragedy you experienced; no one should have to witness such a thing. I hope you can come to terms with it no matter which religion you choose to follow.

At the time of his death, he probably thought what a lot of people think: How could God let these things happen? He died when he was probably not very old and you had to watch. That's pretty brutal.

There are many roads but they all lead to the same place. You can be a paganist, but the best paganist you can be,and arrive in the same place as a born again christian. The point, I believe, your father was trying to make,is that what matters is how you live your life, what lessons you manage to learn, not what brand of God you pray to.I'm sorry for the horror you had to endure...

By "another dimension" he meant "a hospital."

Rejoice, for his eyes had been opened. Albeit a tad too late.
