A fitted short black dress with an open back doesn't sound appropriate for a business related wedding. Sounds great for a party but I doubt your boss wants to see that much of you at his wedding.

This is really two questions. First, about style. Something "kinda short" where "the back is open" that "fits very nicely" and is "stylish" sounds more like something you'd wear to a cocktail party or disco than to a wedding. Wedding attire is usually more conservative than stylish, especially if the wedding is held i a church.

Second, about color. If a lady is in special circustances, such as extreme age, great financial difficulty, or advanced pregnancy, people are charitiable and understand that her "good black dress" may be the only "good dress" that she owns (and is able to wear). Even then however, the dress must be made "less black" thru use of brightly colored accessories and lots of 'em.

Unless you in some sort of special circumstances tho, wearing "funeral colors" to a wedding is considered a lapse of taste. Go buy something in a festive color.

Black dresses are fine for a wedding, however a 7pm wedding is more formal than an afternoon. I wouldn't go any higher than 3 inches above the knee for a dress. If you are worried about wearing this dress, I wouldn't wear it. Also if you have an open back, I would also wear a wrap... very classy. You want sophisticated not slutty

It sounds fine. You can wear black to a wedding. I don't know why some people take issue with this. Just make sure the dress isn't too revealing or too short as this is your boss's wedding.

I hope you mean, should you wear a short black dress TO a wedding. Sexy attire is inappropriate for any work related event because it speaks volumes about you. And, especially since you're not even close to him, he'll think he's hired a street walker.

if you feel that this is truly an appropriate dress to wear in front of your boss, then do it. i dunno how short "kinda short" is, but if it's 2 inches above the knee it's too short. black is always appropriate for a 7pm wedding, i'm just more concerned about the length. ask your mom..she should be a good judge. good luck!

A black dress for an evening wedding is very appropriate, but it should not come above the knee. I suggest you find a longer, less revealing one.

I think it will look great. I also know that BEBE always has very classy and stylish clothes so I am sure you will not look cheap as others have hinted to. Wear it and have a great time!

as long as youre not falling out of it and wont be flashing your bum, it should be fine. you may want to bring a wrap to cover your shoulders in the church, but once everyone's loaded at the reception it won't matter.
